My grandmother passed away Monday morning. She's been in a nursing home for quite a while now. She's had 2 strokes in the past 5 years. They think she may have had another stroke on Friday. The kids and I went to see her this past weekend, though my aunt said it was strictly for us to see her...she was not awake nor aware. It was very hard to see her like that. The funeral is tomorrow so just keep my entire family in your thoughts.
Happy Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for - especially a God that loves us.

Today....
Today is my mom's birthday. Last week was my dad's birthday. I just was thinking of how fast time flies and that my kid's will be 11 and 12 next month. I'm just blessed that I have my family and friends. To all those who read this, God bless and thanks for being there for me when I need you.

What a Day!
You know when you feel very close to God, and things are going great, and then you have one of those days? I had one of those days. It was an incredibly frustrating day at work, and then I started getting the phone calls from the kids this afternoon about things that happened at school and some bad grades, etc. I know that this is a typical attack from Satan and I'm not letting it get the best of me. By the time I arrived home, I had prayed about it and God definitely calmed my nerves. Praise God for His patience and His forgiveness! Now, I need to pass that along to my children! : )

Did You Know??
Armistice Day Becomes Veterans Day
World War I officially ended on June 28, 1919, with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. The actual fighting between the Allies and Germany, however, had ended seven months earlier with the armistice, which went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918. Armistice Day, as November 11 became known, officially became a holiday in the United States in 1926, and a national holiday 12 years later. On June 1, 1954, the name was changed to Veterans Day to honor all U.S. veterans.
In 1968, new legislation changed the national commemoration of Veterans Day to the fourth Monday in October. It soon became apparent, however, that November 11 was a date of historic significance to many Americans. Therefore, in 1978 Congress returned the observance to its traditional date.

Adding pictures
So I have added lots of pictures to my facebook site. You can visit it from the link below. Here are some random pictures of the kids from Trick or Treat and our visit to Pensacola. Also our wonderful student workers and Grad Asst did a phenomenal job on our door decorations for Homecoming so I wanted to show you our "Genie" from our theme, "I love Roomie."
Thoughts on the election. I am anxious to see what will happen in the next four years. But I'm definitely at peace b/c God says he hears the prayers of the righteous. And my family did a lot of praying this week. I'm going to remain positive and pray for Mr. Obama.

Well, it's been a while...
I really thought I would be better at this thing, but as it turns out, I am easily distracted. At home, I seldom sit at the computer and at work, I'm limited. And I never have the camera with me at work to download photos. I am going to take some pictures of the kids tonight and add them. Madi asked me to measure her this morning and she is exactly 5 ft tall! I can't believe it. Next month, she will be twelve years old. My baby is growing up. Anyway, life has been good for the Bentivegnas. Santo and I are attempting to drop some pounds before the holiday season, so forgive me if I'm cranky from the lack of sugar!
Thanks for your patience and to all my friends who are so good at posting. You keep me busy reading up on all the kids' stuff and pictures. Love ya!
