My cat used to do the SAME thing. She loved drinking from the bathroom faucet but it had to be just right not too thin or too thick of a trickle. I miss my kitty! She also had to have fresh ice in her water. The dog is now spoiled on eating crushed ice because my sister chomped on it all during her pregnancy. As soon as she hears the ice machine go off she runs to the fridge.
